Today is the first day of our holidays. Dad came back from Winnipeg after finishing his last week of school, and we now have 2 months of holidays. It is crazy in Dauphin right now with Dauphin Countryfest, which I guess mom and dad went to all the time, and the Fair going on this weekend. My Great Grandpa Church was in the Dauphin Fair Parade with his tractor, but I didn't get a chance to go and see him because of course I was sleeping.

I have lots more of relatives coming to visit in Dauphin. My Unlce Brad, Auntie Kristen, and Cousins Dean and Luke will be here next week, and my Uncle Jeff the week after. It is going to be a crazy July!

No Daddy

Well so far so good here in Dauphin. Dad actually left on sunday because he has one more week of school left. Mom and I have been doing really good. I've been waking up in the night to eat and going right back to sleep. Dad comes back on Friday so hopefully I can keep on being a good girl, and he may bring me a present.

Well I made it all the way to Dauphin from Winnipeg with only one melt down. I was so hungry I thought I would cry my eyes out about 15 min out of Winnipeg and Mom and Dad thought they were in for a long trip. After I ate it turns out that I'm a awesome traveller and slept the entire rest of the way. Mom and Dad were so happy! I'm all unpacked at Grandma Church's and meeting new relatives already. This is a real exciting weekend with my Auntie Tommie's high school grad and Great Grandpa McDill birthday party all happening at once. Dauphin is actually where my mom and dad grew up and met each other in the 10th Grade. Mom said that we are staying here for 4 weeks, so I'll keep you posted from Dtown.

A Day of Firsts

Today is the first day of summer and I also went for my first doctors appointment. The doc says that I'm doing great and that I'm now 8lbs 5oz. and 22 inches. That is 5 more oz. and 2 more inches in only 10 days. Well Mom, Dad, Oscar and I are going on our first road trip tomorrow. We are going to Dauphin to see all my grandmas, grandpas,uncles, aunties, and cousins for four weeks. Wish me luck!

Uncle Tannin

Uncle Tannin has been an awesome help at the house. He likes me and always protects me from Oscar. I've been sleeping really good during the day, 3 or 4 hours at a time, and then I only stay up for a hour or so in the night. Mom and dad have been really liking this schedule so far.

Even though Grandma Church left and it was very sad Uncle Tannin has come to stay for a while. He and Oscar have started to become really good friends. Dad and I tried out the cuddly wrap and even though it may look uncomfortable I like it. And an important date to remember, June 18, 2007, is when my gross stinky umbilical cord fell off and dad was grossed out, thank god for my mom.

Manitoba Marathon

Grandma Church was sad today because she had to leave after taking care of me for a whole week. Thanks so much for helping my new mom and dad Grandma. Also, it was the Manitoba Marathon today and both my uncles ran in it. Uncle Tannin did the half marathon 1:30:43 which I guess was pretty good considering he didn't train too much. My Uncle Ty did awesome and ran the full marathon in 2:56:53 and finished 16th overall, great job uncle Ty. As for me I gave my mom and dad a run for their money staying up from 2:00 am to 6:00 am. Hope tonight goes a little better.

Happy Birthday Grandma Tenley! Grandma Tenley came to visit again today and this time she brought Great Grandma McLaren and Uncle Tannin to visit. We all went out for supper for Grandmas' birthday, but I couldn't go just yet because I'm too little. Dad went though and mom, Grandma Church and I stayed at home and had a girls night. Everyone is in town this weekend because my Uncles are running in the Manitoba Marathon. Good luck to them, I know they'll do awesome.

How many Schmidt's can you get in one room? Today was so exciting when Grandma Tenley, Auntie Jen, and Auntie Mandy came to visit. Uncle Ty and my cousins decided to come too, so we had 10 Schmidt's in one room. Mom and Dad are still really happy with the way I'm sleeping at night, and the public health nurse came to visit and told me that I've almost back up to my birth weight of 8lbs. I guess gaining weight is a good thing at my age, I'm not sure how I'll feel about it later though. Well I get more visitors tomorrow when Uncle Tannin and Great Grandma McLaren are coming over.

Dad decided that it was ok to go back to work on Thursday June 14, 2007 because mom and I were doing so well. Also, grandma Church was still helping at home with us, so dad didn't have to worry about mom and me being alone. I had another good couple nights and the days consistent again of me eating, pooping, and sleeping. When dad got home today my Uncle Ty, Auntie Johanna, Cousin Carter and Cousin Jameson came to visit from Michigan. This was the first time they met me and the first time we met Jameson, so it was really exciting. I'm getting really excited because Grandma Tenley, Auntie Jen, and Auntie Mandy from Dauphin are coming tomorrow and then Uncle Tannin from Chicago is coming in on Saturday. There is going to be a lot of Schmidt's around. Talk to you soon.

First Night

Well it was grandma Church who had to listen to me scream for a hour and a half before I went to bed, but she thinks I'm perfect anyways. Then it was smooth sailing through the night where I only woke up two times to eat and went right back to sleep, mom and dad were so happy. As for my first full day at home, it was very quiet and my day consisted of eating, sleeping, pooping and then repeat. Mom and dad hope I can keep on being a good baby, we'll wait and see.

June 12, 2007 (Day 2)

So Scared

Well like I said before we came home only after staying one night at the hospital. I was kind of scared though because I wasn't sure what to expect as you can see I'm covering my eyes. My room is awesome, thanks so much to the Doell's for the crib and dresser, and to everyone who gave us so much stuff. For some reason mom thought it was a good idea to give me a bath, but I'm really not so sure about it as you can see. Well I'll let you know how the first night goes.

Hello everyone my name is Anna. I decided to be like my cousin Carter and make a blog so my whole family can see what I'm doing everyday. June 11 was a busy day for me. I was supposed to show up on June 25th, but I was ready so I thought I would show up a little early. I was so excited to meet my parents so I got here really fast and only took 6 hours. My mom did so awesome that we only had to spend one night in the hospital and then we got to go home. That's all for now I'll keep you updated.
